Rusty Pate has written about music for the past 10 years. After going back to college in his mid 30s, he earned a degree in journalism from the University of Cincinnati. He has worked as a freelancer covering high school athletics, as well as writing feature-length music articles. Some highlights include interviewing John Oates (Hall & Oates), Rich Robinson (The Black Crowes), Derek Trucks (Tedeschi Trucks Band), Jason Isbell and Larry LaLonde (Primus).

When not spending time with his amazingly beautiful wife, Amber Lea, Rusty also loves craft beer, video games and watching films and high-quality television.
